In his first session in the State Assembly, Assemblymember Zbur has established a solid progressive foundation for his legislative career. His strong support of all of the progressive bills he had an opportunity to vote on this session and his leadership as Democratic Caucus Chair, are a reflection of the civil rights advocacy and social service support that defined his time as an attorney and non-profit leader. After running a successful campaign based on improving access and economic opportunity for underserved populations, Assemblymember Zbur authored AB1484 this session to expand worker rights by allowing temporary public employees to join existing labor unions alongside permanent staff members. This bill, which was signed into law by the Governor, increases access to collective bargaining and extends worker rights to a previously disenfranchised population. A member of the California Legislative Progressive Caucus, Assemblymember Zbur is well-positioned to continue to build on his impactful accomplishments this session.
